Monstrously Good Headphones!
The struggle is real.
Whether you run or row a lot, train using barbells, dumbells, plyo boxes, pull up bars, or a combination of everything, you will at some point had The Great Headphones Battle.
I've had it too many times to count, in various embarrassing scenarios:
1) Trying to tuck my iPhone and headphones cable into my sports bra so it didn't catch on the handles of the Concept2 rower (beware this strategy: it invariably falls out halfway through your 1km row and you lose all hope of beating your PB).
2) Being forced to listen to terrible gym music because I was doing barbell thrusters, and the thought of getting the bar tangled up in my headphones cable was too horrible to stomach (almost as bad as catching your jumper on a piercing - *shivers at the very thought*!).
3) Trying to ignore the bemused looks when I tried to take my jumper off mid-run...and realise I've forgotten to tuck my headphones cable in under my many layers...d'oh.
4) Commuting on the Tube in awkward silence, or standing like a stooped hunchback, because your cable doesn't quite reach from your phone in your pocket...to your ears...strrrrrrrretch...nope, not gonna happen!
Note the common denominator: it's the CABLE, not the HEADPHONES, that causes the problem!
So you can imagine how excited I was to hear about the iSport SuperSlim headphones from Monster. They are WIRELESS, and they have quickly become an essential part of my everyday - and everyday training - kit. The sound quality, as you'd expect from MONSTER (the brains behind the Beats by Dre headphones) is awesome, connecting to your phone/tablet etc via Bluetooth; the battery lasts up to five hours; and the best bit is that THEY STAY IN YOUR EARS!!!
I have a tragus piercing which has been known to get in the way with some headphones, cause them to fall out, or become painful if I'm using over-ear headphones. These Monster iSport Slim Wireless headphones are brilliant because of their (patented) 'SportClip' technology. With your headphones you'll get a selection of different-sized SportClips, and it's worth taking a few minutes to get the right size for your ears because once you get it, you can run for hours, jump around, do burpees or whip your hair back and forth and they still won't fall out. They fit comfortably under hats and headbands too if you're outside in the cold, which I've been really grateful for training over the winter months.
There are loads of other features including volume/playback control, answering calls, and connecting multiple devices at once, but if you want to train, go for a walk or commute with a smug smile because you have some awesome, hassle-free headphones tucked snugly into your ears, get yourself a pair of the Monster iSport SuperSlim Wireless headphones. They retail at £129.99 and are well worth the pennies!
