CrossFit Bakewell is part of Fit Missions, open 7 days a week with classes every weekday at 5pm, 6pm & 7pm.
In 2002, Greg Glassman, founder of CrossFit, summarised it in 100 words in a CrossFit Journal article.
Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat.
Practice and train major lifts:
deadlift, clean, squat, presses, clean and jerk, and snatch.
Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics:
pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds.
Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast.
Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.
CrossFit is for everyone: all ages, abilities and experiences of training. All we ask if that you're willing to work hard, cheer on your training buddies and stay open-minded to the concept that exercise can be enjoyable.
We run a Foundation Course once a month to take you through the 9 fundamental movements of CrossFit and once you've completed that, you're ready to take part in all of our classes.
We can also cover the Foundation Course in 2 x 1 hour Personal Training sessions at a special price of £50.

Membership including all classes and open gym is £70 per month (£50 for U18 students in full time education).
